the Eco-Schools Programme introduces children to the many aspects of caring for the environment through its 12 themes – Biodiversity & Nature, Climate Change, Energy, Global Citizenship, health & Wellbeing, Litter, Marine & Coasts, School Grounds, Wransport, Waste and Water, Early exposure to these scopes will endear children to choose related fields in their tertiary education and careers.

Local Community Engagement

The Eco-Schools Programme is inclusive, it involves the local community from the start. With students’ actively participating, in time, the neigbourhood, town and city will be improved through practicing more sustainable, environmentally responsible behaviours espoused by the students themselves.

Improving School Grounds & Instilling Leadership

By taking part in Eco-Schools Programme, students develop ownership and leadership in ensuring less litter as well as utilizing grounds for composting and growing edible gardens.

Malaysia As Asean's Knowledge Hub For The Environment

In 10 years, students who participated in Eco-Schools Programme will become experts, many in fields related to the themes. With more professionals working in the environmental sector Malaysia will then be better poised to become ASEAN’s knowledge Hub for the Environment
